Urgent help
Counselling appointments are not an emergency service. These lines are free, confidential, and most of them run 24 hours a day.
If you or someone else is in danger right now, call 111 and ask for police or ambulance. If you have taken something, or you are not safe on your own, go to your nearest hospital emergency department.
Your local district health board also runs a Mental Health Crisis Team, sometimes called CATT, reachable 24 hours through Healthline on 0800 611 116.

You do not have to have the perfect words. Asking someone directly whether they are thinking about suicide does not put the idea in their head, and it is one of the most useful things you can do. Ask plainly, listen without rushing to fix it, and stay with them while you get help.
If you believe someone is in immediate danger, call 111. If it is not immediate but you are worried, 1737 will talk it through with you, not just with the person you are worried about.
Repattern Counselling & Therapy is a private counselling practice and does not provide crisis or after hours services. Messages and voicemail are not monitored outside working hours.
